You may wonder why show success and health certificates should be important to you as a puppy buyer, when all you want is a cute, healthy, and happy pet.

Success in Conformation Dog Shows should not be directly important to you if you are not planning to show or breed your PON, but it is vastly important to know that the pup's Mom and Dad are quality representatives of the Polish Lowland Sheepdog Breed, and this has been proven by people who do not know the dog being examined. When a dog of any breed is repeatedly selected to receive the Best of Breed award, when other dogs of the same breed are also being shown, then it is an extra confirmation that that dog conforms (hence the name "Conformation Dog Show") to the breed standard and is a quality dog to have as breeding stock. It is also an added recognition if the number of different judges that have selected the dog is varied and numerous.

Good structure, movement, type, and health are all vital qualities to want in your pup's ancestors.

As part of the Polish Lowland Sheepdog Standard  , PONS are to be shown naturally and should not be clipped, scissored, or scuptured in any way.

Mystery was lucky to have the privilege of attending the prestigious and famous Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show in 2011, in New York City at Madison Square Garden. It was a great experience for a not yet 2 year old puppy. The crowds and the cameras and the lights were all fascinating for Mystery. She is such an observant PON. When she got in the ring she just kept looking around at the crowd and checking out this new experience. By the time she got into her groove and started to "show" what she could do, the breed was done. But it was great to go, and I was so pleased that she handled the crowd and excitement so well.
